Heir to the GSC throne is Sherbert, also known as Sherbet and/or Sunset Sherbert, an indica-leaning hybrid with intoxicatingly potent effects. Bred by Mr. Sherbinski, Sherbert inherits the genetic lineage of its GSC parent, whose ancestors include the famed OG Kush, Cherry Pie, and Durban Poison. Crossed with Pink Panties, Sherbert exhibits powerful full-body effects elevated by a jolt of cerebral energy. A complex aroma colors Sherbert with notes of skunky citrus, sweet berry, and that candy-like smell redolent of its GSC parent. Strain of the Week: OG Sherbet

T here are two things that come to mind when thinking of the word “ sherbet ” (let’s set the record straight—contrary to popular belief, “sherbert” is the incorrect spelling). First, fruity ice cream, and second, bright, vibrant colors. Often incorporating pink, orange and even green, ice cream with this name is often a perfect match for summertime eating. Think live, seasonal flavors of orange, raspberry and lime, for example. So when a cannabis strain named OG Sherbet comes onto the scene, you can bet that you’re in for some tantalizing flavors and effects.

An OG Sherbet strain will often have deep purple hues, almost like the color of an eggplant, spread around a very bright green and leafy exterior. Flavor-wise though, reviewers expected nothing less than the potent scents of citrus. But there is also a subtle, pleasant nutty taste as well, like a light pistachio ice cream. These flavors combined creates quite a pleasant and smooth inhale, and places consumers on the right path toward inner peace.

It’s uncertain which parents were crossed to make this unique strain, but one thing that there’s no denying is OG Sherbet’s powerful indica properties. Similarly to the feeling of laying out in the sun on a warm day, OG Sherbet will induce some great effects for relaxation. A strong but not overwhelming body buzz envelops the consumer quickly, and for medical cannabis consumers this is a welcome effect that often helps treat those who suffer from conditions like insomnia, depression or anxiety.

If this is the sort of strain you’re looking for, try some of its similar cousins such as Rainbow Sherbet , Sherbet Cookies , and Sunset Sherbet . All equally impressive, the Sherbet family line produces many high-quality strains that can benefit both medical and recreational consumers.

Jay-Z Named Chief Visionary Officer for Cannabis Company

After acquiring two California-based cannabis companies, Subversive Capital Acquisition Corp., announced that Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter has been named Chief Visionary Officer.

The announcement to purchase Caliva and Left Coast Ventures Inc. was made public on November 24, although the purchase isn’t expected to close until January 2021. The parent company, referred to as TPCO Holding Corp., hopes to reach approximately 75 percent of California cannabis consumers in this new acquisition, with an estimate of revenue at $185 million in 2020 and $334 the following year. According to Subversive, this new acquisition will “redefine the industry with a mission to both consolidate the California cannabis market and create an impactful global company.”

In early November, Jay-Z announced his new cannabis line , Monogram , in conjunction with Caliva, where he served as chief brand strategist. Now, his new role will focus on “the company’s strategic agenda and leading growth initiatives,” according to Bloomberg . The producer and rapper provided a statement, addressing how these companies will work together to make the cannabis industry a more inclusive business. “Although we know we can’t fully redeem the injustices created by the War on Drugs, we can help shape a brighter and inclusive future,” Jay-Z said in a statement . “The brands we build will pave a new path forward for a legacy rooted in equity, access and justice. We’re creating something people can trust and we’re investing in our future, our people and our communities. ”

When Jay-Z was appointed to Chief Brand Strategist in July 2019, he shared that whenever he puts his mind to something, he does it “correctly and at the highest level.” This value can also be attributed to the new company that Jay-Z has been brought on board to work with. TPCO Holding Corp. has pledged to provide two percent of its annual net income toward businesses owned by black people and other minorities, as well as justice reform initiatives.
